3rd Annual FLARE network meeting

Dear Colleagues,

There is still time to join us in Stockholm for the 3rd annual FLARE network meeting! Stockholm University is well-equipped for a large audience and we still have slots for both presenters and observers. Along with Stockholm University, this year’s meeting is organized in partnership with Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), Swedish International Agricultural Network Initiative (SIANI), Forest, Climate and Livelihoods Research Network (FOCALI), and Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI). As always, we are excited to advance debates and collaboration around the relationships amongst forests and livelihoods, and we welcome your participation!

Registration closes September 8 (midnight ET)https://flare_2017.eventbrite.com

Welcome Reception at City Hall (Sept 29): IMPORTANT! If you plan to attend the Welcome Reception, you must select the free ticket for the event. Stockholm City Hall, the site of the Nobel Prize Banquet, is very strict about the attendee list and will not allow those not on the list into the venue. If you have already registered, you can return to the registration page and select this ticket only. Note, you must register for the meeting to attend this reception.

Dinner Cruise (Sept 30): Join us on Saturday for a casual networking evening as we cruise the archipelago islands in the Nybrokajen bay on the S/S Stockholm . The cruise offers a buffet dinner featuring tastes of the region along with a complementary glass of sparkling wine.

Keynote presentation (Oct 1): Peter Holmgren, CIFOR’s General Director

Workshops (Oct 2): Four unique workshops are offered this year. Spots are still available, but space is limited!

In addition to panel sessions built around accepted abstracts, the program offers two discussion events:

1.      The Future of Forest Work and Communities. Space is limited and advanced sign-up is required!

2.      The Rights and Resources Initiative’s Land Tenure Database. No advanced sign up is required. Read about it HERE.

We look forward to engaging with you!

Email the FLARE network at flare.network@umich.edu with any questions.

Warm regards,

FLARE Coordination Committee
